Here are some vids from our 2WT ride of 6-23-09

Scorching hot 2WT ride tonight!

23 06 2009

It was a hot one for sure, but we still had a record turnout for the ride.   The group was big enough that we couldn’t stay together all the time.  We had a good mix from the freeride crew – Zach, Josh, Tim and Adrian were ripping it up at speed.  Steve came out with his sons Matt and Robbie and they were instantly in the mix.  Dalton came with Scott all the way from Ludington, and left with a wish for stronger brakes!  I’m wishing for stronger brakes too.   Mark, Terri, Don and Dan sessioned the zoo rocks for a long time.  Clay, Dalton, and Charlie were digging the breakwall behind clinch park.  6 year old Charlie went from first timer last week to seasoned vet on the breakwall this week.

Everyone is stepping it up – I’m seeing a rapid progession as we see others doing thing and it challenges us to do more.  So cool!

2WT Marquette Trip August 7, 8 and 9

21 06 2009

The reservations have been made!  2WT is taking a trip to Marquette Michigan the weekend of the infamous Ore 2 Shore Mountain Bike Race.  Come and experience some of the outstanding technical mountain biking the Marquette area has to offer.  I will lead an instructional clinic Saturday morning prior to the organized rides.  This trip is an excellent tune-up for 2WT’s trip to Moab in November!

Trip costs will be finalized and posted up shortly.

Are you racing in the Ore 2 Shore?  You can travel with us!  Our campground is within blocks of the Superior Dome – the finish of the O2S.  Avoid the post race shuttle hassle (the only shuttle offered by the race) and let us take you to the start for a nominal fee.

2WT will stay at the Marquette Tourist Park, a great campground  within an easy biking distance to downtown and the surrounding areas.  Plan on cooling off in the swimming hole right by our campsite, biking into town for dinner, and hanging out around the fire in the evening.

Here are some technical challenges within feet of our campsite!

One of the trails we will ride is Bareback – Marquette’s answer to Moab’s technical terrain.  Would you like to ride this trail with confidence and style?

All hail the coming of summer!

16 06 2009

It was a great summer evening for 2WT.  Many people out and about along the waterfront.  The usual suspects were there.  Tim brought his mad bunnyhop and wheelie skills back this week and is talking about a trials bike 🙂  Robbie joined us on his 20″ and was looking good until the dreaded 4 hole pinch flat took him out.  Charlie brought his dad Brian out and got his trackstand form dialed in.  Adrian is looking fluid and smooth on the kona.  Matt has taken his riding to a new level and is attacking obstacles at speed with great success.  I need to start practicing more!
