Something to kick-start the season

22 04 2009

I’m not a big fan of most biking videos – but this one is different.  Good editing and a great soundtrack help create a bit of a story.  There is a freedom in his riding style that resonates with me.  Enjoy!

22 04 2009

Dennis Bean-Larson of fixed gear gallery is hosting an Alley Cat Scramble this Friday night.  There were two in TC last year and they were so much fun.  If these events were an Olympic sport I’d be in training!  I love the combination of brains and fitness.

Here are the details:
No Tricks Alley Cat – Friday April 24th at 5:45
$5 Entry fee – winner takes all
Meet at the back of Building 50 at the Village Commons (in front of the Fixed Gear Gallery)

2WT Demo May 3rd – at the Cherry Capital Cycling Club Picnic

21 04 2009

2 Wheel Technique will be performing a demo at the annual Cherry Capital Cycling Club picnic on Sunday May 3, 2009.  The picnic is located at the VASA Cross Country Ski trailhead in Acme.  2WT will be riding from around 11 AM till 2 PM.  We will have obstacles and bikes on hand for others to try.

Directions:

The VASA trailhead entrance is off of Bartlett Road.  From M-37 in Acme turn east on Bunker Hill Road, take it to the top of the hill and continue for another 1/8 of a mile, turn south on Bracket road and travel about 3/4 of a mile to the entrance.

It wasn’t Tuesday, but it was sunny and dry so 2WT rode in February!

9 02 2009
The major melt-off on Saturday really took away a lot of our snow.  Bright sunny skies and temps in the 30’s on Sunday had me thinking of spring and riding my bike.  A quick check of the rocks at the zoo and on the shoreline revealed that we could ride – with a little shoveling 🙂  Mark, Terri and I got out for a really nice session.
The first 15 minutes were comical as we all were rusty and could not execute even the simplest of moves.  But it all came back after a bit and started to feel good.   Both Mark and Terri upped their ability level from last fall!
I have been relishing in all the snow we’ve had, and hope for a lot more before the winter is over, but it felt really good to get out and challenge myself on a bike!
