2WT at the Cherry Capital Cycling Club Picnic

4 05 2009

2WT had a demonstration at the annual picnic for the Cherry Capital Cycling Club (www.cherrycapitalcyclingclub.org ).  Regular 2WT riders Mark, Terri, Don, Matt and myself were there, and Kyle from TC West joined us too.  Young riders Nick and Andrew from last year were back again and rode the entire time!  I saw some very nice riding and significant progression too.

2 Wheel Tuesdays Rides Again! 6 PM at the Union Street Bridge

2WT Rides Again! Time to get the season rolling. We will meet at the Union Street Bridge by the post office at 6PM on Tuesday 4-28-09. See you there!

It wasn’t Tuesday, but it was sunny and dry so 2WT rode in February!

The major melt-off on Saturday really took away a lot of our snow.  Bright sunny skies and temps in the 30’s on Sunday had me thinking of spring and riding my bike.  A quick check of the rocks at the zoo and on the shoreline revealed that we could ride – with a little shoveling 🙂  Mark, Terri and I got out for a really nice session.
The first 15 minutes were comical as we all were rusty and could not execute even the simplest of moves.  But it all came back after a bit and started to feel good.   Both Mark and Terri upped their ability level from last fall!
I have been relishing in all the snow we’ve had, and hope for a lot more before the winter is over, but it felt really good to get out and challenge myself on a bike!

We made some snow ramps, but they made it harder to ride the rocks - the snow was too soft

Election day shredding

6 11 2008

Spectacular weather brought out a dedicated crew to ride on election day.  People on bikes were everywhere!  It felt like a summer evening.  We are all turning into nocturnal rockhoppers as it now gets dark really early with the time change.  We have been blessed with great weather each Tuesday this year.
